Half-light

Half-light

In your last moments,
you might think it years,
this wait to see him again.
For him it is but a moment,
or perhaps a lingering sunset,
waiting in that half-light
until you are by his side
for your walk together
into the long night.

This is my response to Jane Dougherty’s A Month with Yeats: Day Seventeen (each day a new Yeats quote).

“The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light”
W.B. Yeats
