Whitewashing the House

Whitewashing the House

Whitewashing the House.jpgIt’s the Coriolis that pulls me in,
not the offhand way I swipe away
a mess already out of sight.

The porcelain’s efficient
evacuation of that offensive matter
sends my mind whirling. Maybe

it’s the white of the bowl
that makes me think of a House
in need of cleaning.

If only a flush was all it took to rid
the world of that repulsive,
most foul, offensive odor.

See Confessional, by Stephanie L. Harper. It’s worth the read. Of course, my mind goes in odd tangents. (And please forgive the mixed metaphor in the title.)
