fragrance
out of damp earth is very good, I think Ken. Don’t think I’ve been here before and will now be back again!

It is!
But why are the blue jays flocking and squawking? They won’t stay still or shut up.

The soil carry such richness for a robin…

They sure keep busy at it.

Crows run off the robins at my place, yet they do not pick at the soil for sustenance. Interesting prompt; collaboration is hard for me.

Never been a fan of tan renga but I like your addition muchly. I love the fragrance of the earth, especially wnen digging around herbs. Our robins are long gone but there are other birds that peck about at the tilled soil.

This does seem to be more of a spring tanka.
When I do these, I treat them as an exercise. I try to find different ways to read the haiku, instead of immediately ripping off a response, so I can maintain a flow.

I love how the robin reads the signs and are in action & the meal comes up. Good karma and good rewards.

I agree with Mish that this one does appeal to many senses.
It makes me think of how parts of nature work together–the rain, the worms surfacing just as the robins appear. . .

Life’s web circles forward, then back again. I wonder, do robin’s have taste buds or merely hunger? Dunno. Nice work
