charm of red sunrise
reflected in watchful eyes
storm clouds bring despair
rising sun’s red charm
viewed amidst gathering clouds
mariners take care
The two word prompts for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge #75 are charm and look, with the added stipulation that opposite meanings are presented in the two halves of the haiku. I’ve used watch and view as synonyms for look, and the haiku was inspired by an ancient mariners’ rhyme:
Red sky at night, sailors’ delight
Red sky at morning, sailors take warning

I like these two. So visual but with depth.

I like how you managed to capture two meanings 🙂 and the image: charm of the red sun reflected in eyes.
