Dream On

Beings of celestial light
Beam us up into the night
Take our hand, that we might find
Ice cream cones of every kind
And salad bars where bacon bits
Sprinkled by elephants that sit
On daffodils of sheer blown glass
Across a bridge where all may pass
Serve tennis balls at lightning speed
In every color we might need
To paint a world where all is right
We wish for this with all our might

Make this journey one of joy
To bring about the girl and boy
The child there within each heart
The one that’s always been a part
Of each of us, though it might seem
That all we see is but a dream
Show us how to have some fun
In a world where hate and guns
Have found a way to be the norm
Give us peace in every form
And when at last you beam us down
Remind us of that joy we found
